Software Engineer

For my second professional certification, I obtained the AWS Developer - Associate certification. At the time I was also working with a client using AWS Serverless technology, so the skills transferred easily. I now understand the pros and cons with choose cloud as your main compute infrastructure.

Wanting to move to Nashville, TN and work with top-notch professionals in tech, I joined CGI, Inc. CGI Nashville made transitioning from university to enterprise development very easily. To this day, joining CGI has been one of the better decisions in life that I have made. Immediately they put me one a project in the Accounting industry that was planned to Go-Live in 3 months. It forced me to ramp up quickly and to learn and unlearn technologies very fast!

After quick 4 years at UA, It was my turn to graduate. I walked with my bachelors in Management Information Systems as well as my Masters. Somehow in between football games and innermurals, I was able to put my nose to the grindstone and get the work done. College was a blast being probably then most fun and learning jam packed in 4 years. Ending GPA: 4.0.

For UA's MIS Capstone project, I led a team of 5 in contributing real work and features to Insitely. The Founder and Senior Engineer help us step up our coding abilities by reviewing our Pull Requests and giving us constructive critisism. It brought our coding skills up to enterprise level.

Although, Cyber-Security is not my passion (like Application Development is), I figure it is important to understand the basics. So I obtained my Security +.

After my first Co-op rotation at MBUSI, I was staffed on the financial technology team. This consisted of a small group of 4-6 people in the finance department with technical know-how to create Robotic Processing Automations. This is where I learned a bunch about Coding (Virtual Basic) and Agile Project Management.

Joining MBUSI for this Co-op was a game changer for my professional development! It was the first official white-collared job. I started out in the Product Cost Engineering department where we calculated and determined adequately pricing of materials for the GLE and GLE-coup vehicles.
